If you’ve done Pilates before and know the basics then you’re all set to join a class. Give Rosie a call on 07932 607 116 or get in touch using the enquiry form, to see if there’s availability in your chosen class.
Regardless of your general fitness level, if you’re new to Pilates you will need to complete a private Introduction to Pilates to introduce you to the basic terminology, principles and positions we use in group classes. Once you’ve completed this introduction you’ll be able to join an established class and work safely at your own intensity.
All classes run on a course basis, I do not offer ‘drop-in’ options.
What to wear, what to bring?!
You’ll need to wear clothes you can easily and comfortably move in. I recommend a few light layers on top and pair of leggings or tracksuit bottoms that have an elasticated waistband.
We remove footwear for Pilates so you are welcome to exercise in either socks or bare feet.
All equipment, including your mat, will be provided for you for the duration of the class, free of charge.
What do the classes involve?
Classes are mat based using small equipment such as foam rollers, balance blocks, elastic bands and pillows.
Each week there will be a slightly different focus, depending on the general progression of the group and the equipment being used.
Of course, it’s a Pilates class, so there will always be a focus on ‘the core’, however, to restore balance and function be prepared to stabilise joints that need support, strengthen muscles that have been neglected and stretch in all directions!
When and where are the classes held?
We do not follow school terms or holidays.
Who else will be in the class?
Classes have a maximum of 12 participants.
Some classes are slightly more advanced than others, but all classes are mixed age and ability with exercises being taught from a base level up. Rest assured, you will be able to work at your own pace.
All classes welcome both male and female participants, with the exception of the ‘Men Only’ class on a Thursday evening.
